First staged in 1999, the Historic Motor Race Weekend has matured into a festival of on-and-off track activities that draws the largest visitor audience to a non-professional motor racing event in B.C. This year’s event drew the largest crowd to date with the theme Westwood50 – a salute to the 50th anniversary of the opening of the legendary Westwood race track in July 1959. The event paid tribute to the cars that raced from 1959 to 1990 and the event series like Formula Atlantic, Player’s Pacific, Player’s/GM series, Honda and Pepsi Pro races. For this special celebration of Westwood, suitable street and races cars built for 1991 (cars that did or could have raced in Westwood) were included in the entry for all three days in Lapping Sessions. MCL Motor Cars was proud to be part of such an exciting event! This year's event took place July 17-19.
